Homes are marketed primarily on the Internet right now, and almost 90% of people are searching for homes online. This is why it's so crucial to have professional photographs taken of your home if you wish to sell for top dollar. The better your photography is, the more views and attention your property will receive.

Home buyers are also very busy, and when they see a good home with nice features, they tend to jump on it. Photos provide buyers with a good idea of what type of condition your home is in, and this helps to find better buyers for your property. It's especially important to highlight the best features of your home, as well as any upgrades that have been done on it.

Have you ever seen a home online that you liked, but you couldn't quite tell what the home was like from the photography? You probably just skipped it and went on to the next listing, and that's what people will do with your home if it's not photographed well. To capture the best photos outdoors, early morning and dusk work best. If you're taking photos on the inside, the midday is best because the sun will be shining on the inside and natural light presents the home in a beautiful way.

This may seem obvious, but make sure your photos are straight, clear, and focused. If you look on the MLS you'll see some very poor photos, and you should have a good idea of what you need to avoid by looking at them.

The most important thing to remember is that a great photo is no substitute for a great price.
